Digitalization
What has the internet made easier for you recently – and what has it made more difficult?
Many of us still remember the analog world, where letters had yet to give way to emails, and ticket halls still held sway over apps. Was life back in the old days actually any worse? No. But a lot of things were very different. Today, we are digitally connected, and have rapid access to education and training, jobs, information, and contacts. What’s more, the internet even helps us with our relationships: one click and we’re connected with family, friends, and business partners; one swipe and we’ve met someone new.
The world of logistics is no different, digitalization is making processes transparent and complex operations more straightforward. Gebrüder Weiss’s digital customer portal myGW allows users to track shipments in real time, view documents, and plan processes. This has made logistics not only more efficient but also less stressful. And yet many of life’s pleasures still cannot be digitalized, the human touch proving enduringly irreplaceable.
